Fonner Park reacts to legislature ruling

LB 806 passed in the Nebraska unicameral only to be vetoed by Governor Dave Heineman.

Fonner General Manager Hugh Miner declined to go on camera with us today saying he was very disappointed with the ruling.

It has been all about the racing industry and the fact that the sport is running out of ways to make money.

LB 806 would have allowed betting in machines of races that had already taken place but of which the results haven't been known.

Hugh said it would especially have helped the Lincoln market since their track at the old Fairgrounds behind the Devaney Center is closing after this summer's racing.
