Several of Aaron Green's former Husker teammates are heading to the NFL. Four players were drafted; four more signed as free agents.

In addition to wide receiver Brandon Kinne with Kansas City, offensive tackle Yoshi Hardrick with the Tampa Bay Bucs, Defensive tackle Terrance Moore with the Baltimore Raves and center and Omaha native Mike Caputo with the Minnesota Vikings all will try to beat the odds and make NFL teams as undrafted free agents.

It's not impossible, case in point, the New England Patriots Super Bowl team had no less than 18 undrafted free agents including running back Danny Woodhead out of Chadron State.

With the 4 players drafted, Nebraska has had at least 3 taken in the NFL draft for a 34th consecutive year.

Perhaps the most notable of this year's Huskers taken is cornerback Alfonzo Dennard who goes to the New England Patriots as the 224th pick in the 7th round.

Alfonzo spent last week in jay accused of assaulting a Lincoln police officer and another man.

Patriot coach Bill Belichick told reporters Alfonzo is a guy whom they've spent a lot of time on.

He went on to say "Obviously, the incident affected his draft position but we're comfortable making the selection where we did."

Alfonzo himself put on his Twitter account: "God is good all the time, New England Patriots, I promise I won't let y'all down."

While Alfonzo is drafted by the AFC Champion Patriots, former UNK and Hastings Tiger offensive lineman Steven Goodin signed a free agent contract with the team that defeated the Patriots, the Super Bowl Champion New York Giants.
