Husker women shine on the basketball court
Connie Yori's Nebraska basketball team hopes it's busy in March during the ever popular "March Madness" and the NCAA Tournament.
They may have taken a giant step Thursday night with a win over the 25th ranked Michigan State Spartans. Once again, Jordan Hooper was unstoppable. The 6-2 junior from Alliance scored a game high 25 points, including a basket with under four minutes to go giving Nebraska 11 point lead. The Huskers, who have had several players out in recent games, then held off Suzy Merchants Spartans 59-54 to improve to 14-6 and 4-3 in the Big Ten. For its next game, Nebraska travels to Ohio State next Thursday. |
