Huskers drop in final season poll

After their Capital One Bowl loss to the South Carolina Gamecocks, the Huskers drop to a disappointing 24th in the final poll.

The Big Red was ranked 20th going into the game but a 30-13 loss to Steve Spurriers crew dropped them four more places.

The Gamecocks themselves, who finsiehd 11-2 moved all the way up to 9th in the nation, their highest final ranking ever.

Big 10 teams hold down the 10th, 11th and 12th spots with Wisconsin 10th Michigan State 11th and Michigan 12th.

Nebraska opens the 2012 season September 1st hosting Southern Miss.
