Huskers hope for final win at Devaney
Husker basketball coach Tim Miles is talking about Wednesday night's home finale at the Devaney Center against the Minnesota Golden Gophers at 8:00.
It will be the final game ever for Nebraska in the Devaney Center before moving to the new Pinnacle Bank Arena next season. Some great former Huskers will be on hand to sign autographs before the game. It'll be an emotional night, the doors are already open and as the voice of the Husker basketball team Kent Pavelka said, every seat should be filled for this one. "I know there's pretty cool plans in place to make sure it's recognized appropriately and we're gonna have former players in and it's going to be a tribute to the fans and I think it's going to be an exciting night, senior night of course, so it's going to be a memorable occasion for everybody that's involved," said Miles. Of course, this is Tim's first season as head coach of the Huskers but he realizes many great games have been played in the Devaney Center. "Devaney is one of those places that's an important place in everybody's lives that was a part of it and it's an important thing for our program and we want to go out the right way especially with a win," Miles said. Wins have been hard to come by for the Huskers in the rugged Big Ten conference this season having won three league games here in eight Big Ten home contests. The Huskers currently are 10th in the Big 10's 12 team league. They'll wrap up the season at Iowa Saturday. |
