The Huskers are getting ready to play in Saturday's spring red-white scrimmage at Memorial Stadium at 1:00. That "practice" wraps up the spring football workouts.

No doubt about it, the Husker defense can't be blamed for the team finishing last season losing 3 of its last four.

Giving up nine points to Texas A&M, 23 to Oklahoma and 17 to Washington in the Holiday Bowl still should get you at least 2 if not 3 victories in those losses.

So as we've discussed, the Huskers have put in a new offense with a new coordinator Tim Beck, and the players have spent all of the workouts learning it as quickly as they can.

The Red-White squads have been divided. The Red team will have Taylor Martinez at quarterback with Brandon as one of the receivers while the white team has Cody Green at QB and Rex Burkhead at running back.

It all looks to the 2011 season opener September 3rd against Tennessee-Chattanooga and the squad first season in the Big 10 conference.
