Husker football recruits new players

by News 5 Sports

As Husker assistant football coach Ron Brown said, recruiting is an inexact science.

Wednesday coach Bo Pelini signed 17 new players to scholarships, 11 on defense, and asked 19 more to join the team as walk ons, that is play ball, but pay their own way to the University of Nebraska.

The Huskers didn't get everyone they want including defensive tackle Andrus Peat of California who chose Stanford over the Huskers.

Of course, we won't know for quite awhile which new players will be good ones in college.

Here are some of the key players recruited:

Tommy Armstrong-QB-Cibolo, Texas
Aaron Curry-DT-Keller, Texas
Alonzo Moore-Ath-Winnfield, LA
Avery Moss-DL-Tempe, AZ
Michael Rose-LB-Kansas City, MO
Vincent Valentine-LB-Edwardsville, IL
