It'll be quite a year for former Husker and Kearney Bearcat kicker Brett Maher. Brett graduates in May, gets married in June and this week is trying to win a job in the NFL

Brett is one of three Huskers heading for Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianpolis after being invited to the NFL combine to show what he can do.

After making 39 of 50 field goals in the past two seasons, Brett hopes some NFL team takes him in the April draft.

The same goes for running back Rex Burkhead.

Rex, who missed six games and parts of 3 others with an MCL sprain last season, has been training in South Florida to prepare for the combine.

Defensive back Damien Stafford will also be in Indy the next few days under the watchful eye of NFL scouts, coaches and General Managers.

Each guy has his chance, and that's all they can ask for.
