So far this season, Husker Running back Rex Burkhead has missed the better part of four of the seven Nebraska football games with a knee injury.

Rex may be on the shelf again Saturday night when the Huskers host the Michigan Wolverines at Memorial Stadium.

He re-injured that knee in the 1st quarter of last week's game with Northwestern.

The senior from Plano, Texas is showing that he is getting it done off the field.

Rex is one of 15 players that are finalists for the William V. Campbell academic award given to a college football player including all divisions.

Northwestern offensive lineman Patrick Ward is the only other Big 10 player besides Rex eligible for the William Campbell award which will be announced after the regular season.
