Kearney Little League team swings for World Series

Even though the Olympics are in full swing and high school and college football teams are getting ready for their seasons the "big" story is that of the Kearney Little League team. Just two games and 12 innings away from a trip to Williamsport Pennsylvania and the Little League World Series.

And they're the number 1 seed in the Midwest Region.

Thursday Kearney will face the squad from Missouri at 6:00 pm central time for shot at the regional title and a spot in Williamsport.

The 4 and 0 youngsters are looking to make history and we'll have the highlights tomorrow night after the Olympics here on News 5.

The game is being televised on ESPN 2.

The other semi-final between Minnesota and Dakota will be at 1 P-M on ESPN.
