The Minden Whippets and the Boone Central-Newman Grove Cardinals turned in their purple and red last night for orange.
All for a good cause.

1st grader Alex Johnson of Minden and 3 year old Cooper DeWitt of Albion were both diagnosed with cancer within a few days of each other about ten months ago and have been undergoing treatment ever since.

Fans of both teams wore special "orange" shirts Monday night
during the girls-boys double header basketball game in support of the boys and their fight against the deadly disease.

The event raised more than $9,000 which will be donated to Cure Search a national nonprofit foundation that supports research and finding cures for pediatric cancer.
