Mr and Miss Basketball returns to Kearney

The Mister and Miss Basketball tournaments are fully underway in Kearney with teams hitting the court at all hours of the day.

Play begins everyday at 9:00 am with the last game tipping off nearly 13 hours later at 9:50 pm.

Fifteen different states are represented at the Tourney including obviously Nebraska with one of those teams being the Kearney Catholic girl's squad which uses the tough competition to get better every year.

"This is a great experience for the kids. We have a pretty young team and for these guys to compete against teams that are probably a little bit better than they are you know it gives them the experience they need going into next year," said KCHS Coach Rick Petri.

After a tough 47-22 loss to the Oklahoma swarm Coach Petri and his girls will hit the court for the last game of the night taking on the Nebraska Force at 9:50 wrapping up the pool play portion of the event.
