NU volleyball team earns top honor

In other Husker news a team that plays in the fall has received an honor from a national governing body. This time it's not the football team.

The NU Volleyball team is one of 534 teams to earn the American Volleyball Coaches Association team academic award for the 2011-2012 season.

The 534 teams are a record for the award which was established in 1992 to honor Collegiate and high school volleyball teams which display excellence in the classroom.

To qualify for the award teams must carry at least a three point three cumulative grade point average on a four point scale.

Also receiving the award Hastings very own the St. Cecilia Hawkettes.
