"Just take it all in, stay focused on your preparation, doing everything from interviews to getting your rest at proper times and staying focused on the task at hand."

That was Rex Burkhead speaking with the media in Indianapolis before he hit the turf to showcase his skills in one of the most interesting job interviews in the country - the NFL combine.

After three days of talking to teams, medical exams, and workouts, Rex took to the field Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium with the rest of the skill position players, but didn't quite perform the way he had hoped.

Rex, posting a disappointing 4.73 in the 40 yard dash. Keep in mind was never confused with a speed back during his time in Lincoln but still not the number he was looking for.

But this isn't his last time to impress the scouts as he'll have a chance to improve on that 40 time during Nebraska's Pro Day on March 7th.

Here's a look at some of Burkhead's other marks. His vertical jump 39 inches and broad jump at ten feet, five inches were the second best in the running back class.

He also put up a very respectable 21 reps at 225 pounds on the bench press.
