Toby Keith's horse will race for Bosselman trophy
Randy Curran, the agent for Hall of Fame Jockey Perry Compton, is talking about the $75,000 Dollar Gus Fonner Bosselman Handicap which runs Saturday.
Randy is talking about what a legendary day it will be here at the track. It's a Hall of Fame day Saturday since Perry Compton will ride the horse trained by Hall of Fame trainer Don Von Himmel and owned by Country Music Superstar Toby Keith! The horse is named "Sebastian County" and will compete for the Bosselman trophy as well as the $45,000 first prize. He's a 3-1 shot and will be competing against defending champ "Shadowbdancing" who is a 2-1 favorite. "Sebastian County" isn't the only horse Toby Keith owns. About a decade ago, Toby Keith performed at the Adams County Fair after News 5's Ginger TenBensel had a chance to talk to the music legend. It sure would be nice to see him watch his horse race in the Bosselman at Fonner tomorrow, but it won't happen. The 22nd annual Gus Fonner Bosselman Handicap will be the 10th tomorrow and go off at about 6:00. |
