Last June after pitching in just 27 games, New York Yankee Joba Chamberlain went "under the knife" for what is called "Tommy John" surgery, to totally rebuild his pitching arm.

Here at UNK coach Damon Day's office, Joba's autographed jersey is on the wall.

Joba began his college career pitching for the Lopers before transferring to Nebraska where he became an All-American.

Coach Day has definitely kept in touch with Joba and feels he'll bounce back and be a force to be reckoned with for the Yankees this season.

Last season, Joba was 2-0 in 27 appearance with a 2.83 earned run average so it seemed he was on his way to an excellent year when the arm injury came.

We'll see if he can make a comeback this year.

Joba is 2013 all time in his five major league seasons.
