Former Husker and current New England Patriot defensive back Alfonzo Dennard has been found guilty of a felony charge of assaulting a Lincoln Police officer outside of a Lincoln bar last April.

Dennard, who was a rookie with the Patriots this past season, was also found guilty of a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest, but not guilty of striking another man.

Dennard faces a maximum penalty of six years in jail and a $1,000 dollar fine.

Lancaster county attorney Joe Kelly said he would not recommend a sentence but typically the sentence would range from probation to 180 days in jail.

That sentencing hearing is set for April 11th.
