Nebraska Danger prepares for next battle
As we have said on our program before, "Get Your Popcorn Ready". That famous phrase was said by none other than "TO", Terrell Owens before he joined the Dallas Cowboys.
Of course, "TO" now plays for the Allen Wranglers of the Indoor Football League. That is exactly whom the Nebraska Danger play Saturday night at the home of the Wranglers down in the Lone Star State. With new quarterback Rocky Hines, a former Husker recruit and UNLV quarterback, dividing time with Dwight Dasher in place of the injured Terry Mayo, the Danger fell one point short losing to the Wyoming Cavalry 44-43 to drop to 1-2 in those 3 opening home games. No doubt it was tough night with new quarterbacks and a narrow defeat. "I knew I was going to play but I didn't know quite how much. I only got here a few days ago and it's pretty difficult, you know what I'm saying, to get out here and play, but the coaches did a good job of teaching me and you know being very friendly out there for me to play," said Hines. "Well, 43 points, that's not going to win too many ballgames in the Indoor game, so we have to do something to get 45-55 points and defensively we should be able to stop them under 40," said Coach Mike Davis. The Danger went from the high of Corey Surrency's tremendous catch with two second left Friday against Wyoming, to the blocked extra point that ultimately cost them the ballgame in that heartbreaking 44-43 loss here at home. |
