Former Grand Island Islander Kash Kalkowski is tearing the cover off the ball for the Husker baseball team this season. But, he's not the only Islander graduate making an impact.

This one plays for the 12th ranked Husker softball team. And, she's this week's News 5, 5 Star performer sponsored by Aurora Cooperative.

Senior third baseman Heidi Foland is hitting 311 for the Lady Huskers this season. And, she's been a key part in Nebraska's 30-6 record.

Foland has 24 RBI'S and 4 home runs.

The senior played at first base her junior season.

But, Heidi switched to third this year to help the team.

With fellow Grand Island native Kash Kalkowski playing for the baseball team Heidi said it's good to see GI well represented in Lincoln.
