This week's Aurora Cooperative 5 Star performer capped his season with his best performance of the year Senior I-back Rex Burkhead closing out his career with 140 yards and a touchdown on the ground in his final game donning the Husker red.

However, after the contest, Rex, who was always so selfless throughout his time in Lincoln continued to deflect the attention towards his teammates.

"You know I'm done playing at the University of Nebraska. It goes quick so just making sure they make the most of each and every single day. If they want to be great they gotta make football important to them. So just blocking out the distractions and focusing on what needs to be accomplished and I think they're going to do that. They've got the right head on their shoulders. They're going to be great players," said Burkhead.

Burkhead is the true definition of a student athlete. A first team academic All-American his junior and senior seasons carrying a cumulative 3.4 grade point average while majoring in history. Rex is getting it done in the classroom and on the field as well finishing as the fifth leading rusher in Nebraska history with 3,329 yards.

He now turns his attention to the NFL draft where experts believe he will be selected in the mid to late rounds.
