There is no doubt the Sargent Bulldogs have been a scoring machine this season. That has happened enroute to their 12–0 record and state title matchup with the Class D–2 defending champion Howells Bobcats.

Those Bulldogs have earned the right to be our News 5 Five Star Performers.

They can break it the distance on any play,and have done so often this season.

Sargent has two 1400 yard running backs, an extremely accurate passer and a veteran line. The same guys play defense and make plays on that side of the ball. In their most recent game, the Bulldogs broke it open for an impressive 50–20 win over the Mullen Broncos.

The Howells Bobcats are a squad that not only will be looking for its second of back to back titles, but for its 9th title in school history.

They have dominated 8 man football like no other team, including last season's state championship victory over the Giltner Hornets in this game.
