Eaton, Colorado high school coach Lori Willadsen has been hired as head volleyball coach at Hastings College replacing Ron Alexander. This will be her first college job after 17 years of high school and club coaching experience.

The Broncos were 27–9 in Alexander's only year with the team finishing tied for 3rd in the GPAC with an 11–5 mark.

He has taken the job as athletic director at Front Range Christian Academy in Littleton, Colorado.

The new coach will bring an impressive resume including 3 Colorado state championships, two runner–up finishes and having coached 17 all–state players.

Coach Willadsen will inherit a roster of five seniors, three juniors and nine sophomores for the coming season which starts August 28th at the St. Ambrose Tournament in Davenport, Iowa.

The new coach will be on campus for a clinic next week, then she, her husband and two children will move from Colorado to Hastings August 1st.

Wednesday, she told News 5 she is thrilled about the opportunity to coach the Hastings Volleyball Broncos:

"Who would not be excited to take over the Hastings position because it is a great program with great kids and academically story. I believe the volleyball team was a 3.66 GPA this semester. So who would not want to be around that situation where they have a winning tradition and these are just good kids in the program.

"I am not just wanting to inherit it and ride the wave, I'm hoping to enhance that and I am a firm believer that you teach your kids life lessons along the way and know coach Alexander feels the same way, to and coach Alexander and I are good friends and we have trained together in the gym for many years and have similar philosophies and some of his strengths and some of mine compliment each other so I think it will be a smooth transition for the team."
