Jim Boeve's Hastings Baseball Broncos don't play in the NAIA National Touranment in Lubbock until Thursday, but they'll be on the road Tuesday to the site some 11 hours down the road.
Fresh from their three days in Sioux City at the GPAC Tournament in which the team was 3-2, the GPAC Regular season champs get set to face Kansas Wesleyan at 1:00 Thursday.
The winner of that game will take on the top seeded host Lubbock Christian Friday in the double elimination affair.and the players know a Golden Opportunity awaits them.
If the Broncos can win three or four games to take this tournament title, they'll move onto the field of 9 to play next week in Lewiston, Idaho in the National Championship tournament. It's been a hectic two weeks for the Bronco baseball team. They hope the excitement doesn't end anytime soon.
For the Broncos it was good to see centerfielder and former Grand Island Islander Mike Tomlin at practice. Mike has recovered from his hamstring injury and should be ready for the Kansas Wesleyan game Thursday after missing the GPAC Tournament and the final several regular season games.
