Even After Saturday's GPAC Semi-Final loss to the Concordia Bulldogs, Hastings Bronco basketball coach Jeff Dittman and his players were still optimistic. They were confident they'd again be chosen as one of the 32 teams to play in the NAIA National womens' basketball championship next week in Sioux City, Iowa.

Wednesday afternoon the Broncos got word they'll be one of 5 GPAC teams to compete in the single elimination affair that starts a March 7th and wraps up March 13th at the Tyson Events Center.

The Brocnos take on Tennessee Wesleyan in that first game on Thursday at 12:00 pm.

As a number 5 seed, the Broncos are the lowest seed among their 4 other GPAC Foes: 4 time defending champ Northwestern, Morningside Briar Cliff and League champ Concordia.

A Great Plains Athletic Conference team has won this tournament every year but once in recent memory, including three titles by the Broncos in 2002 and 2003 as well as 2006 and a nearly annual appearance.
