Bronco defense ranks at the top of conference

It's a defense that's built on putting pressure on the quarterback and forcing turnovers. And, those qualities have built Hastings College into one of the best units in the GPAC.

Defensive Coordinator Tony Harper and his squad ranked 3rd in scoring defense in the conference with an average of just over 17 points per game last season.

And, the Broncos led the conference in turnover margin with a plus 18.
This year, Hastings will be without all GPAC linebacker Makenzie Hemje.
But, Coach Merck's crew still returns a host of talent on the defensive line.

That unit helped the Broncos hold opponents rushing average to under one hundred yards for the season.

The D–line may be one of the best in the conference with Pete Botkin and Jake Mueller returning.

And, the Broncos are glad they're wearing their colors.

Coach Mierkiewicz has two of his top three tacklers from a year ago returning in Brian Callan and Indiana Jones.
