Bronco freshman Morris racks up points on the court
After Saturday's semi-final loss to the Concordia Bulldogs, the Hastings Broncos now sit and wait for the NAIA selection committee and the bids to the NAIA Tournament Wednesday.
Former Sandy Creek Cougar Bailey Morris helped the 2nd ranked Bulldogs to an overwhelming 86-48 win over the Broncos in the GPAC Semi-Finals. The freshman scored 11 points against the Broncos and now will focus on the league's tournament title game they host Tuesday against the Morningside Mustangs. Bailey's journey to Concordia has taken her through Silver Lake high school and then to Sandy Creek to which she transferred before her senior year. Those are two great programs she feels both got her ready for the next level here at Concordia. So we'll see Bailey and her Concordia teammates in Sioux City next week. Will the Hastings Broncos join them? It's likely but with three losses to Concordia this season and this recent one by almost 40 points Bronco coach Jeff Dittman said his team clearly has work to do. Four teams from the GPAC will likely get bids to Sioux City, Concordia, Morningside, Northwestern and Hastings. We'll know Wednesday. |
