Bronco softball takes on Prairie Wolves
Going into Tuesday's doubleheader against Nebraska Wesleyan, it appeared the Hastings Bronco softball team might have an edge.
They've played more than three times as many games than the Prairie Wolves so far this season. Let's go to the Smith Softball Complex where one fan had her Hastings Bronco hat on. In the 3rd inning of the first game, with Wesleyan leading 1-0 the Broncos tie the score. Molly Mullervy delivers a basehit to center to score the run from second. Later in the inning, it's Jackie Stickley at the plate. She lines one down the rightfield line just fair, two runs score, the Broncos lead 3-1 and win 4-3. Onto the 2nd game, Wesleyan at bat and the get help from the Bronco defense on the bouncer to the mound. The ball is thrown away at first, a run scores to make it 1-0. Later it would be Megan Tieken with a basehit to left, two runs would score and Wesleyan led 3-0. On defense they make a nice play to keep the Broncos off the board. On the fly ball just beyond the infield Jenna Beckner runs it down for the catch. The Prairie Wolves split the doubleheader with Hastings winning the second game 4-3. |
