A win is a win, no matter how you get it. However, the Hastings Broncos victory Saturday night was of the sloppy variety as they overcame 13 penalties for over 100 yards to defeat Concordia.

Nonetheless, the Broncos persevered generating 5 turnovers on defense and, most importantly, improving to 2 and 0 on the season.

"They played hard. Had nothing to do with coaches. We came out, we put some drives together offensively, caught some turnovers defensively. Special teams got a lot better than what it was last week. This win is solely on these kids. They could've went downhill some of the time, but they finished it," said Coach Tony Harper.

"It means a lot. We still got work to do. We still got a lot of good opponents coming up and we're going to keep on working. Come back in here tomorrow, get some film in, then we're going to forget about it and move on to the next game," said defensive back Kane Elenburg.
