Broncos search for new volleyball coach

It was apparently a heartbreaking decision to make, but as we reported last week here on News 5, Hastings Bronco volleyball coach Lori Willadson left the program.

Volleyball season for the Hastings College Broncos starts August 26th.

The resignation came down to a family decision that after one season she, her husband and 2 children will move back to the Denver area.
Her husband has a new job there.

The couple hadn't sold their Colorado house since moving to Hastings just over a year ago so they'll just move back in.

Under Lori, the Broncos were 21-14 last year and showed some great promise.

Bronco Athletic Director Ian Roberts told News 5 Monday afternoon the search is underway for a new coach, that he'll meet with assistants Abby Welliver and Lyndi Rouzee, but it would be tough to come up with a permanent replacement soon.

The team is due to report to camp August 12th.

The Broncos lost 7 seniors but have a recruiting class of 11 coming in for the new coach.

The first Bronco home game will be September 9th against Dakota State in the Quality Hotel Classic.
