For various and different reasons, the Hastings Bronco volleyball team has had 5 different head coaches in the past four seasons. Monday, the Broncos have yet another coach for the team.

His name is Matt Buttermore who comes to the Broncos from Bellevue University where he's been an assistant coach the past 3 seasons.

Matt replaces interium coaches and former Bronco players Lyndy Rouzee and Abbie Welliver who'll soon complete Masters Degrees.
They led the Broncos to an 18-15 record after coach Lori Willadson unexpectedly resigned right before the season.

Matt's wife just happens to be former Husker All-American player Laura Pilakowski who was a member of Nebraska's 2000 National Championship team.

Laura will leave her job as strength coach for the Husker volleyball team and come to Hastings with her husband.

Neither Lynee nor Abby applied for the permanent head coaching job here at Hastings College.

Ian Roberts praised both of them for doing a great job this season leading the Broncos to just one set from the GPAC Tournament Championship.
