We've talked at length about the enormous changes with the Huskers leaving the Big 12 for the Big 10. Some marked changes also come to the Great Plains Athletic Conference . The Hastings Broncos now will be under the direction of new head coach Tony Harper.

Doane Coach Matt Franzen, the former Bronco assistant, told News 5 he looks forward to competing against his good friend, former adversary when Tony was at Dana and former collegue while they were both at Hastings when the Broncos meet host his Tigers October 27th.

Doane, Hastings and the rest of the GPAC probably are not unhappy to see perennial league champion Sioux Falls leave for NCAA Division III football.

The Cougars won the 2008 and '09 National Championships and lost in last year's title game 10-7 to Carroll College of Montana.
