All-Star games banned from Division 1 stadiums
It seems the annual Shrine All-Star North-South football game has been played for the last time at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln. This year's game was just last Saturday afternoon with the South stars prevailing over the North.
The NCAA has passed a law saying no all-star high school games can be played at the stadium of a Division One school. The Shrine Bowl has been in Memorial Stadium every year since 1960 except 2005 when it was at Lincoln's Seacrest Field when the Memorial stadium was being renovated. It's anyone's guess where the Shrine Bowl will be played from now on. Perhaps Foster Field in Kearney could be a site, we'll see. |
