Hastings All-Star basketball players show off their skills
Usually the only basketball played during the month of June comes from the NBA but Sunday we central Nebraskan's get some local basketball action with the Hastings area All-Star game.

In the first quarter American's jump out to the lead. Heartland Lutheran's Sam Simonson drops in the trey for a 3-0 lead.
Then the blue team gets out on the break. Sutton's Lance Spongberg finds Tom Sinsel under the basket to make it 5-0.
But it doesn't stay that way long. The white team, using their size advantage as 6'10" Dave McDonald puts in the bucket cutting it to 8-5, American.
Now, later in the first, GICC's Tyler Barrientos drives to the hole. No good, but Beranek is there to tip in tying the game at 13.
Then, after a line change, Hastings' Septer Duang uses the up-fake, then takes it to the hoop for the first of three straight from the Tiger. Game still tied now at 15.
Back and forth game throughout the first quarter, blue team on the break getting it to AC's Brady Barrett who lines up the three putting it in making it 24-19 way team.
Pretty good crowd on hand to see some of the best girls in the area as well.
Second half action, the American team's hauli bauer does all the work here cashing the three for a six point lead, 34-28.
But from there the national team goes on an 8-0 run topped off by Zoe Mays' easy transition layup the blue's take a two point lead, 36-34.
Now last seconds of the third the a-team inbounds it to Boone Central's Jamie Kennedy who gets the open look and cans the triple at the buzzer to make it 46 all going into the fourth.
Where the Blues take over using every part of the hoop to their advantage, Shelton's Emma Urbanek banking in the three. She didn't call it, 57-51.
Then a couple minutes later another Bulldog knocks in a three as Tracy Meyer hits nothing but the bottom of the net to make it 62-53 and the national team goes on to win 66-59.
