When they were told they would be going to Papio and the American division of the Legion Class A Tournament, the players of district champion Grand Island Home Federal team were surprised. They thought they were ticket to the National Division in Columbus which seems like an easier draw.

Nonetheless, they took on Omaha Westside Friday.

Home Federal will play at 4:00 Friday afternoon against the winner of the Lincoln Northstar–Digiorgio game.

Kearney Runza also took on the Millard North Deeb Mustangs Friday.
