As we move through these high school football playoffs, the games get more crucial. As we look at our Monday highlight reel, we see some of the most important plays of the season.

As we do every week we see some of the lighter moments as well.

It is a bewitching Halloween night that welcomes the next round of these high school football playoffs.

At Adams Center there is a Buzz in the air and on the ground. It is Buzz Niederklein imposing his will against the GICC Crusaders in the Class D-1 round of 16 in for the injured Jake Fowler. Buzz scores both Patriots touchdowns in a 12-6 win.

Kearney Catholic goes through the air as Abc Clinch does the firing. He connects against Broken Bow. The Stars are dominant in the shutout and they visit the Patriots in the Round of 8 Tuesday in the battle of unbeatens.

In Kenesaw they may need new lights for the scoreboard given the points these teams especially the Bertrand Vikings put up would you believe 84? Yes, 84 points as Ryan Dalgren breaks free early and often to send the Vikings to victory over the Blue Devils.

In Merna, the Giltner Hornets score excactely half that many points and less than half as many as the 90 points they scored in the first playoff game. It was still good enough for a 42-6 win over Anselmo-Merna as the Hornets host a likewise undefeated team in Curtis Medicine Valley Tuesday.

At Shelton nobody can stop Stoppkotte, that is the Bulldog quarterback Clayton Stoppkotte and his outstanding running back Luke Glenn. The Dogs roll on into the round of eight.

Glen Snodgrass sends his York Dukes against the defending champion Elkhorn Antlers in the Class B round of eight. The Dukes upset the top ranked Scottsbluff Bearcats the week before. Though the Dukes score on a spectacular touchdown pass, they fall short in the game losing 10-7 but what a turnaround for this team in Glen's 2nd season at the helm.
Another round of playoffs is about to take flight.

Until our Next Monday highlight reel we won't be clowning around. We'll always be kind to animals and we'll be seeing the teams that are left making a run at playing for the state championships.
