Huskerland Prep Report Editior calls it the "high holy season." He is talking about the start of the Nebraska state football playoffs, which starts this week.

Many of the games are Thursday, including the Class C-1 first round match up between the Central City Bison and Minden Whippets.
That is our Aurora Cooperative Game of the Week.

The Whippets are a "Reflection of Perfection" so far this season winning all 8 of their games.

Coach Sam Dunn's squad will face a Central City team that's 5-3 and that has had few winning seasons in recent years and a program whose playoff bids have been few.

In fact, often both teams have struggled to get to and perform well in the post-season, so they're especially glad they're facing each other.

A number of playoff games are set for Thursday afternoon such as contests at Duncan Field, St. Paul and Shelton, but this Central City-Minden matchup will have the traditional 7:00 kickoff and Minden Thursday night.
