Game of the Week: St. Cecilia vs North Platte
High school football playoff games will sneak up upon us this week. Classes C and D compete in the semi-finals Tuesday. That's where the Duncan Field battle between the two-time C-2 champion Hawks of Blue of St. Cecilia host the impressive Irish of North Platte St. Pats. It's our Aurora Cooperative Game of the Week.
That Bluehawk will be ready. Will his team be ready to face the visiting Irish who come to Hastings trying to a St. Cecilia 36 game win streak? After missing the last 3 games, the quarterback running back combination of Phillip Hamburger and Jase Jackson should be back for the Hawks of Blue. Though other guys have filled in admirably, Coach Carl Tesmer feels he needs all of his guys to hold off the Irish Tuesday. Last season, the Bluehawks defeated the Irish 21-14 in North Platte in route to that 2nd straight state title. This year the route to Lincoln goes through the city of Hastings starting with Tuesday night's 6:00 C-2 semi-final kickoff. Most Popular |
