Coaches and players head to Big 10 Media Days
Believe it or not football season is almost upon us as the first major event of the season - for the Big 10 at least - begins Thursday in Chicago with Big 10 Media Days where News 5's Ed Littler is camped out ready to ask all the tough questions from the Penn State scandal to Taylor Martinez's Throwing Motion.
Well, hello everyone from the windy city of Chicago where we have arrived for Big 10 Media days. The football coaches and players from each team will talk about the upcoming season, but, however, no players from Penn State after the NCAA sanctions coach Bill O'Brien has decided to come by himself to talk about the upcoming season and those penalties laid down on Penn State by the NCAA, but no players will be here from Penn State. Of course, other teams may recruit players from Penn State Penn State players may leave. Running back Silas Redd Perhaps is rumored to go to the University of Southern California. We don't know if that's true. We'll find out in coming days. But Thursday, of course, we will hear from coach Bo Pelini and several the Husker ball players from schools like Michigan, Wisconsin, Michigan State Northwestern - all of the great schools in the Big 10 here in Chicago that we are to cover. And, of course, for days to come we'll be hearing from players and coaches of those particular schools as we get closer to the football season which, of course, opens for Nebraska September 1st when they host the University of Southern Mississippi. Before I sign off from Chicago I just want to say Kyle Thomas great working with you. We realize this is your last night at News 5 and certainly we wish you the best of luck in the future. We wish we could keep you much longer here at News 5. So from the windy city of Chicago right here on the shores of Lake Michigan we'll be with you Thursday. |
