Former Husker basketball player debuts with Nigerian team

Former NU basketball great Ade Dagunduro made his debut with the Nigerian national team Monday in the FIBA Olympic qualifying tournament.

Dagunduro recorded a triple single posting six points, four assists and four rebounds in 19 minutes.

He and his Nigerian teammates put up a valiant effort but fell to host nation Venezuela 71-69 in the first game of the tournament.

Meanwhile in Wednesday's matchup with Lithuania the Nigerian's evened up their record at one and one with an 86-80 win.

In 15 minutes Dagunduro picked 6 more points to go along with three steals and one assist.

Nigeria plays Greece Friday as they try to qualify for play in London.
