Husker Burkhead makes award watchlist

For what seems like the umpteenth day in a row a Nebraska football player has been named to a watch list for a post season award.

Everybody's favorite Husker Rex Burkhead has been named to the Doak Walker Award watch list, an award he was a semifinalist for last season.

Burkhead is one of 52 candidates on the watch list joining other big ten backs Montee Ball of Wisconsin and Michigan State's Le'Veon Bell.

In 13 games last season Burkhead rushed for 1406 yards and 15 touchdowns leading the team in both categories.

Semifinalists will be named November ninth with the finalists being announced ten days later on the 19th.

And, of course, the winner will be announced December 6th during the Home Depot college football awards.
