Husker baseball: No NCAA bid

For a fourth straight season, the Nebraska baseball team is not part of the NCAA tournament field of 64 and will have to sit home and watch other teams play.

Nebraska finished its 2012 season 35-23 out of the NCAA picture once again.

2008 was the last season the Huskers were able to get a bid.

At the time it seemed like you could plan that Nebraska would not only play in the NCAA tournament, but host a regional with thousands of fans coming through the Haymaket Park gates to see the Huskers and the other three teams compete.

The Big Red also hosted the best of 3 Super Regional three times, winning all three paving the way for their three visits to the College World Series up the road in Omaha.

Those were the days. Will they ever return? It's anyone's guess.
