Husker defense ready to pounce on Badgers

Bo to Pasadena. That phrase is probably going to be repeated this week by many Husker fans and around the house by members of Husker coach Bo Pelini's family.

The Huskers and Wisconsin Badgers battle Saturday night under the roof of Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis for the Big 10 championship and Rose Bowl Bid New Year's Day.

The Blackshirts have really come through lately. The Husker defense now leads the nation in pass defense having shut down quarterback James Vanden Berg and the Hawkeye offense in the season final last Friday at Kinnick Stadium. Nebraska allows an average of just over 150 yards a game through the air.

Nebraska will see a relatively new quarterback in Wisconsin's Curt Phillips S who'll make his 4th start.

Can defense win a Big 10 Championship for Nebraska? We'll find out in a few days.

The last two games the Husker defense allowed just the one touchdown to Iowa and two to Minnesota.

They sure hope that trend can continue against Wisconsin who has the great running back Monte Ball and the excellent wide receiver Jared Abuderas.
