Husker players will sit out title game
Both defensive tackle Baker Steinkuhler and center Justin Jackson are out for the Big Ten Title game against Wisconsin Saturday night in Indianapolis.
Both players went down in the first half of Friday's 13-7 win over the Iowa Hawkeyes. Baker injured his knee on a tackle and Justin Jackson has his ankle rolled up on while making a block and limped off the field. Both went to the locker room, returned on crutches and have already been ruled out. That's so unfortunate especially for Baker, the senior from Lincoln and son of Outland Trophy winner and former Husker Dean Steinkulher since he's a senior and played his last game for Nebraska. So, the Huskers face the Wilsconsin Badgers for the Big Ten title without those two key players Saturday night. Nebraska defeated Wisconsin, the 2 time defending Big Ten Champions, 30-27 in Lincoln September 29th. News 5's Will Sherratt reports from coach Bo Pelini's press conference that this rematch shapes up to be like the first meeting, a down to the wire thriller with the winner heading for the Rose Bowl.
