California, here they come. The Husker softball team is bound for the NCAA Regional in Palo Alto to take on the Fresno State Bulldogs Friday in the first game of the double elimination affair.

It's 54 NCAA Tournament victories and counting for the Husker program.

They'll go after #55 and what would be their 40th win of this season in the game against the Bulldogs.

They don't want to stop there.

They want to play in the NCAA College World Series in Oklahoma City later this month.

The Huskers swept two games from the Oklahoma State Cowgirls including yesterday's 3-1 victory.

They learned of their bid late Sunday night during the ESPN selection show.

They were hopeful of hosting a regional but it's not to be and are pleased to be going to Palo Alto for the double elimination tournament.
