Facing elimination Thursday afternoon the Husker Baseball team put together one of their better performances of the season beating third seeded Penn State 12-3 to advance and play again Friday taking on tournament host Ohio State.

And the Buckeyes taking advantage of playing in their home town leading the Huskers 3-0 going into the sixth.

After a Josh Scheffert walk Richard stock drills this pitch into the outfield for a double driving in Scheffert to finally put the Huskers on the board. It's 3-1, Buckeyes.

NU still on the comeback, it's GI native Kash Kalkowski singling up the middle to bring stock home cutting the buckeye lead to one at 3-2, but that would be the end of the scoring for the Huskers.

Now in the seventh man on second for Ohio State Brad Halberg grounds it to third and Richard stock is unable to dig out the Scheffert throw allowing Tim Wetzel to score on of three NU errors on the day.

Then in the eighth OSU adding insurance Kirby Pelent hits his second triple of the day to right center driving in David Corna to make it 5-2. The Buckeyes add another in the inning and head to the ninth up 6-2.

Where with one on and two out Chad Christensen strikes out to end the game and probably the season of the Big Red they fall 6-2.
