Huskers count on Martinez for bowl game

by News 5 Sports

As the Husker basketball team tries to regroup, the Nebraska football team continues to prepare for Monday''s Capital One Bowl in the Sunshine State of Florida.

As we have mentioned, an encouraging sign for the squad is quarterback Taylor Martinez who hasn't thrown an interception in his last four games.

Taylor has 12 touchdowns passes and 7 int's in 12 games this season.
His counterpart Conner Shaw of South Carolina has almost identical stats, 12 touchdown passes and six picks in 9 games.

Offensive coordinator Tim Beck will count on Taylor to continue taking care of the ball against a good South Carolina defense that with defensive end Javerous Clowney will try to put the heat on Taylor.
