Huskers deal with injuries before big bowl game

With their team awards having been passed out at Friday night's team dinner, the Husker football team turns its attention to the Capital One Bowl and Georgia Bulldogs January 1st.

The injury front isn't good for the Big Red as both center Justin Jackson, who suffered his ankle injury and defensive lineman Baker Steinkuhler out with his knee injury, will not be ready for the bowl game.

Both were injured in the regular season finale against the Iowa Hawkeyes. Both could only look on helplessly as the Huskers lost to the Wisconsin Badgers 70-31 in the Big 10 title game in Indianapolis.

There is simply not enough time for them to be healthy enough to play.
