Husker football coach Bo Pelini has promoted the guy known as "JP" assistant John Papuchis to defensive coordinator. He also announced the hiring of Iowa assistant Rick Kaczinski as defensive line coach.
"JP" has been on Bo's staff all four seasons coming with Bo from LSU.
He's been defensive line coach, special teams coordinator and recruiting coordinator under Bo.
"JP" replaces Carl Pelini who is now head coach at Florida Atlantic.
Kaczenski comes from the Iowa Haweye staff of coach Kirk Ferentz where he has served five years and developed some outstanding offensive linemen.
