The future of Husker football was front and center Wednesday in Lincoln as Bo Pelini and his staff announced the addition of 26 new members to the Nebraska Football program.

However, the hot topic Thursday is the past.

Three Huskers received invitations to the NFL combine Thursday -
Kicker/Punter Brett Maher, I-back Rex Burkhead and Safety Damien Stafford.

Maher finished up his tremendous collegiate career connecting on 20 of 29 field goals this past season.

Burkhead, of course, riddled with injuries throughout his senior campaign still ended his tenure with the second most rushing yards in the last decade.

Stafford was more than just a hard hitter in 2012 for the Blackshirts
Second on the team in total tackles with 96 while leading Big Red with 4 interceptions.

The trio will showcase their talents in front of scouts in Indianapolis beginning on February 20th.
