Bronco baseball triumphs at home
No matter the sport, sometimes when you're struggling you just need a home game. Return to a familiar setting, play in front of the home fans and try and get back on track.
The Hastings College Baseball team was hoping that would be the exact remedy for their woes after losing seven straight as they play at home for the first time this year. Kind of... Due to some scheduling issues, Hastings and Dakota State were playing in Aurora this weekend. First game of the twin bill. Bottom One...Hastings down one. Brent Hermanussen...going oppo brings home John LaMaster and we're all nodded up at one. Top two, Warriors Seth Spears just enjoying the afternoon. Jeremy Williams catches him looking to end the inning. Bottom of the second, runner on third, Gabe Salas doing his job, grounds one to second plating Connor Thomas to give the Broncos the lead. And then the Warriors couldn't find the plate. Michael Craine drilling LaMaster with the bags loaded forcing in a run which became the theme of the afternoon. No matter who the Warriors threw out there they couldn't find the zone. Broncos win 13 to 4 |
